Hey everybody. It's Tara Bryan and you listened to the course building secrets podcast.

All right, guys, I'm going to talk about the number one habit and thing you need have to make sure that you are building a successful online course business, or just adding to your revenue through online courses.

You must have a habit of having a vision and constantly checking back to make sure you're following your mission. And you're not just sort of wandering in circles, right? Because what happens when you're starting something new is you tend to be super influenced by what's going on with other people, right? So you may check out some blog posts or some podcasts, or kind of follow some people. And you kind of get brought into the sales messaging, brought into the way that they do things that may resonate with you,

But here's the thing is all have to attach to your guiding vision or why you're doing what you're doing.

What's your purpose,

what's your movement,

what's your vision for why you're doing what you're doing?

And I can tell you from personal experience, it's hard, it's hard to set up that intention that just makes sure that you're focused constantly

On what your purpose is and how you are using that to help the people that you're serving.

And, um, just a quick story about that. And as I've transitioned my agency, which had a very clear mission, right? Very clear vision, which was to help companies, uh, really improve the performance and results of

their employees and customers. And well, that's not necessarily different. Then, the market I'm serving is different in the way that I'm showing up as different. And, um, and quite honestly, the way that I'm approaching, uh, attracting people is different than what I was doing in the past.

And so, you know, I from personal experience have found myself many times over in this transition of forgetting about that habit, forgetting about making sure that I'm staying focused on my vision and not just getting

kind of drawn in by somebody else's really cool idea or cool thing that they're doing and trying to Incorporate that into kind of my core Offering. Right?

And they think about it. And, you know, if you need to share this lessons today and the tip, which is really defines what it is that, you know, your special, um, ability is to, to provide the people that you serve with resolve, with a solution, to the problem that they have and stay true to that, and really make that Your vision, your mission is to, you know, serve your people at the highest level to get them the result that you promised and there's of tactics.

There's lots of ways that you can implement that. But if you can stay clear to that vision, then you won't like get that shiny object syndrome, right. Where it's like, oh, maybe I shouldn't serve him in this way. Or maybe I should create this thing. Well, maybe I should go after and change my funnel or change my Messaging or whatever. Right. Because it all should

Go back then to answering the question. Does this ultimately go back to the habit of staying true to your vision, your mission, the reason why you do what you do and, um, and it's such a good lesson and something that, that I try and always keep to the forefront is, you know, what, what am I doing to help my people be the best that they can be right, to be able to get the results that they want, which is really to stop trading hours for dollars. Let me get to the point where they can be growing an income stream, adding more profitability without having it all tied to their time, without having it all be project-based or hourly or whatever kind of time trap. Um,

And when you first start your business and that's really my mission and how I deliver that can change, but it's really staying true to that. How do I get to that result in sometimes honestly, it's just about showing up and helping somebody. It's not about the cool, you know, do that gadget software, whatever it's just about showing up and being able to serve and provide someone that met that helps them really make sense of the journey that they're on and how to get from point a to point B. And, um, sometimes it's less about all of the noise and all the other things that are happening. So my lesson for you today, if you need to go back and kind of check in with what your vision is, why it is, you do [00:05:00] what you do and what is that driving force behind all the decisions that you make to grow and scale and, and, you know, essentially be this new business,

Take the time to really, you know, stop this podcast and think about what that is. And then each decision you make run it through that sole streak. Does it serve that vision? That's it, it really helped people get to a

result. That's something that distracts. Um, I think there's a lot of sort of distraction out there and things that aren't necessary, um, but are sort of perceived as cool or, um, something else, right? So stick with the core stick with having it match your vision and then build from there, right? Once you're in super clear and you've made the decision based on your vision, then you can essentially start adding things to it.

So there you go. There is my course building secrets tip of the day. I hope you all have a great rest of your day. Hey, if you love this podcast, give it a rating would love to get your feedback, share it with other people who you may think would benefit from it. And, um, and Hey, you know, what, if you are in a position of trying to stop hitting hours for dollars, just something a little bit different than just one-on-one work, Maybe add an additional product line, or just start to change what you're doing. Give me a shout in the show notes. There Is a way to get ahold of me. I would love to talk to you and see if an online, and of course our land program would Be the right fit for you. So reach out, I am happy to help serve you in that way. So, all right, until next time.
